Building Project Update for September 2007

On Friday, September 14, 2007, on the Feast of the Exaltation of the Holy Cross, Fr. Bakhos signed the contract with Jonathan Bedway as our builder and Larry Siebieda of Bellaire as architect.  All necessary permits have been received and the ground-breaking took place on Monday, September 24, 2007.  Many thanks to the members of the Parish Council and the generous benefactors and parishioners who have had the vision to modernize our church to fit the needs of all our church parishioners and visitors, especially the handicapped and elderly.  The Building Project is scheduled for completion by May 2008 if the winter cooperates.  Parishioners will be updated weekly on the progress of the Project and the donations received.
Notes:  We appreciate the “nice words,” “best wishes,” comments like “If I win the lotto, I will give the church half,” and the other remarks.  We have heard them all; however, the contractor doesn’t accept them in exchange of his labor.  Instead, please donate to help us completely pay for this project by sending your checks or cash to the Building Fund, Our Lady of Lebanon Church, 2216 Eoff Street, Wheeling, WV  26003.  Checks should be made payable to Our Lady of Lebanon with memo line noting the “Building Fund.”
